7 Things to be Effective in Business

Success in business starts with a clear vision of what you want to achieve, and well-defined goals that guide your actions to align with your vision. Having a compelling vision provides direction and motivates you to stay focused during challenging times. Break down your vision into achievable goals, and constantly revisiting and refining them as your business evolves. Spending time to develop this clarity will enable you to make informed decisions to align your efforts and resources to achieve your objectives. Execution must be supported by a clear vision, this is the foundation upon which success is built.

To thrive in business, business owner, entrepreneurs and professionals need to cultivate certain habits and skills that will set them apart from the rest. Here are seven essential elements that can greatly contribute to your effectiveness in business.

  1. Be Proactive:
Take proactive control of your response to the world. You can’t control what the world throws at you, but you can control your response.
  2. Focus on Outcome:
Begin every task with a desired outcome in mind, an outcome that links to achieving the goals defined. Take an extra two minutes before delegating anything to ensure you clearly understand and articulate your desired outcome. Ensure those responsible for taking an action are clearly informed..
  3. First things First:
Take the time to assess tasks and prioritise each day and tasks according to urgency and importance. We only have limited time each day. Choose to use it to maximise productive outcomes.
  4. Win-Win:
In a competitive world the benefits of mutual beneficial outcomes can be lost. Look for scenarios where everyone can achieve a win no matter how small. With a positive outcome for everyone in mind, discussions and solutions beneficial to “everyone” can be achieved.
  5. Build Strong Relationships:
Listen Before You Talk. It’s too easy to be push out own opinions and  miss the point or the “real” reason during a discussion. You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Listen more than you talk.
  6. Create Synergies:
Collaborate more to create powerful synergies. This is just as simple as the saying, “two heads are better than one”. The more you collaborate, the better chance of a better outcome. Seek help from those with different backgrounds, difference experiences and education.
  7. Rest & Renewal:
Take Care of Yourself. Imagine a wheel that is made up of six sections. Each section needs to be in place for the wheel to run smoothly.
    Those six sections are:

Mental Physical Spiritual Social Intimacy Emotional

You need to have these six things in your life in equal balance to run smoothly!!
